According to a 2015 study on the socio‐economic and environmental implications of agricultural residue burning, one ton of burning straw releases 3 kg of particulate matter, 60 kg of cobalt, 1,460 kg of carbondioxide, 199 kg of ash and 2 kg of sulphurdioxide.
